Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams celebrate their postponed wedding day – after coronavirus cancelled their plans

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams have celebrated what was supposed to be their wedding day, before the coronavirus pandemic forced them to cancel their big day.

The couple made the most of a bad situation, by marking the day drinking wine and posing for photos at a vineyard instead.

Sharing a collection of photos to Instagram on Saturday, Sarah wrote: “A couple, a pandemic, & a postponed wedding: A series.”

“We were supposed to get married today. Instead… we took pictures and drank wine.”

“I love you to Pluto & back,” the Modern Family star added.

Her fiancé also shared some photos from what would have been their big day, writing: “We were supposed to get married today. We didn’t.”

“But I still got to grab a butt. So, ya know, still pretttty cool,” he joked.

Posing in Mr. and Mrs. face masks, the couple urged fans to “wear a damn mask” to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Wells popped the question to Sarah on a trip to Fiji in July 2019, after two years of dating.

Celebrating their one year engagement last month, Sarah shared photos from the moment she said yes – paying a heartfelt tribute to Wells.

“One year engaged to my best friend. So grateful to be quarantined with the love of my life ????,” the 29-year-old shared.

“One day we’ll get married, but for now, I’ll take eating junk food and Netflix all day every day ????.”

She added: “I love you to Pluto and back baby ????”.

Also marking their engagement anniversary, Wells wrote: “A year ago today I asked my best friend to marry me. Best decision of my life. Happy engagement anniversary @sarahhyland, I love you +1 anything you say.”
