Sandra Bullock’s stalker found dead after standoff with SWAT team

The man died from a self-inflicted injury

Sandra Bullock’s stalker has been found dead, after a five-hour standoff with SWAT personnel.

Joshua James Corbett, who was previously convicted of breaking into the actress’ home back in 2014, was found dead inside his house in La Crescenta, California on Wednesday.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the man died of a self-inflicted injury.

The standoff reportedly began after Los Angeles police attempted to serve a warrant at the residence.

However, when they arrived to the property, the man barricaded himself inside a building in the back of the property.

According to reports, detectives with the LAPD Fugitive Warrant Section went to the residence at about 7am, and SWAT personnel were requested soon after.

 

Crisis negotiators allegedly tried to coax him out of the building for five hours, but he wouldn’t come out. Upon going inside, they found the suspect had died of a self-inflected wound.

Joshua James Corbett broke into Sandra Bullock’s house back in 2014, while she was there. The actress was forced to hide in her closet, while guiding police to her house.

Joshua was held on $2.185 million bail for charges of felony stalking and burglary, however, in May 2017, Joshua pleaded no contest in breaking into Sandra’s home, and was released from jail after striking a plea deal.

The man was sentenced to 5-years probation and treatment at a mental health facility. Meanwhile, Sandra was granted a 10-year protective order against him until 2022.
