Lili Reinhart has apologised to fans, after she posted a ‘racially insensitive’ picture on Twitter.
Over the weekend, the 21-year-old, best known for her role as Betty Cooper on the hit CW series Riverdale, posted a DeviantArt photo of a woman dressed up as a “demon,” wearing a black bodysuit and black body paint on her face and arms.
“Found my Halloween costume!!” Lili wrote alongside the pic.
“Inspired by the color of my soul.”
Lili tweeted this out but she never intended any harm, as you can see. pic.twitter.com/332i8XnvHR

The picture sparked a mixed reaction, as some accused her of wanting to “do blackface”.
However, Lili swiftly deleted the post, and apologised by saying, “I did not mean for my tweet to come off that way. I can see how it was interpreted as being insensitive, completely.
“I saw the pic on a Halloween Instagram and didn’t think it would be interpreted as being racially insensitive. I apologize. Never meant any harm. I can see how it could’ve been misinterpreted.”
