Riverdale and 90210 star Luke Perry dead – after ‘massive stroke’

Luke Perry has died, aged 52, after suffering a “massive stroke”.

The actor, who starred in Beverly Hills 90210 and became a hit once again thanks to his role in Riverdale, passed away in California.

Luke was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiance Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.

TMZ had reported that he was rushed to the hospital last Wednesday morning after suffering the stroke.

His reps had said that doctors had sedated him.

As well as his most recent role in the popular series Riverdale, Luke had just filmed a part in the highly anticipated flick Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Just this week Luke’s castmates from Riverdale and former 90210 stars had shared get well wishes online.

His rep released a statement confirming the tragic news:

“Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke. He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophia, fiancé [sic] Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.”

“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.

“No further details will be released at this time,” the statement concluded.
