R. Kelly deletes Australia tour announcement

R. Kelly has deleted his Australia tour announcement.

The news comes after the release of docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly, which contained information on a number of his alleged acts of physical and mental abuse of women.

The singer announced a tour of Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka on Twitter yesterday, but has since deleted the tweet.

Kelly shared a teaser of the tour on Twitter, which included no dates and simply wrote: “NEW TOUR ALERT Australia | New Zealand | Sri Lanka see y’all soon!”

According to The Guardian, Shayne Neumann the Australian shadow minister for immigration and border protection said that his party would be “seriously concerned” if the singer was allowed in the country.

This isn’t the first time a R. Kelly tour of Australasia has been announced, as the 52-year-old shut down “fake tour” rumours in Australia and New Zealand in December.

The singer took to Instagram at the time and wrote: “FAKE TOUR ALERT. While I love all my amazing Fans in the Australia region I am NOT involved in this tour nor do I have knowledge of it, it’s promoters, etc.”

“I will NOT be in Australia during these dates. Watch my social media…when it’s time for my next international tour (which is soon) you’ll hear it directly from me. Stay tuned for more King shit in the VERY near future!”

The singer has yet to release any more information after deleting the latest announcement.
