Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the birth of their first child via surrogate over the weekend.
The news shocked fans as the couple, who tied the knot in India in December 2018, did not announce they were expecting.
However, Priyanka dropped a big clue that she and Nick had a baby on the way back in November during the Jonas Brothers Family Roast.
During the one-hour Netflix comedy special, which premiered November 23, the 38-year-old actress poked fun at the couple’s age gap and swirling pregnancy rumours.
She said: “We are the only couple who doesn’t have kids yet. Which is why I’m excited to make this announcement…Sorry babe…”
“Nick and I are expecting…To get drunk tonight and sleep in tomorrow,” Priyanka joked.
Priyanka and Nick announced the birth of their first child in a joint statement shared on Instagram on Friday.
They wrote: “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”
According to multiple outlets, the couple have welcomed a baby girl.
