Prince’s six siblings declared rightful heirs to his estate

Prince’s six siblings have been declared the rightful heirs to his estate.

The legendary singer passed away unexpectedly back in April 2016 at the age of 57, and as he did not leave a will – a host of people claimed to be the heir to his fortune, estimated to be worth up to $300 million.

However, after Minnesota judge Kevin Eide dismissed almost 30 people claiming to be heirs to his estate last year – he ruled on Friday that Prince’s true heirs were his sister Tyka Nelson and five of his half-siblings.

“The heirs of the estate are determined to be Omarr Baker, Alfred Jackson, Sharon Nelson, Norrine Nelson, John R. Nelson and Tyka Nelson,” the order read.

Over 45 people came forward after Prince’s death, claiming to be his wife, children, siblings or other relatives. However some, including a Colorado prison inmate who claimed to be Prince’s son, were ruled out through DNA testing.

Prince allegedly died at age 57 of an accidental, self-administered overdose of the powerful painkiller fentanyl at his Paisley Park Studios compound in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen.
