Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have secured their spot in Hollywood by signing a major deal with Netflix.

Just six months after they quit royal life and moved to Los Angeles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have founded their own production company and signed a multiyear deal with Netflix.

According to The New York Times, the deal will allow them to make documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming for the popular streaming service.

In a statement, the couple said: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

Harry and Meghan also said Netflix’s “unprecedented reach” will help them share “impactful content that unlocks action.”

Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-chief executive and chief content officer, said in a statement: “We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”

The news comes after Variety recently reported that the couple were pitching a top secret project to Hollywood executives.

According to the outlet, Meghan and Harry began pitching their idea to “numerous” media companies back in June.

A source close to Meghan also confirmed the Duchess has absolutely no plans to act, and won’t star in the project that was pitched.

Meghan narrated the Disney+ docuseries Elephants earlier this year, marking her first job in Hollywood since she quit the royal family.

Meanwhile, Harry recently made an appearance in a new Netflix documentary about the Paralympic Games called Rising Phoenix, which premiered on August 26.

The Prince is also working with Oprah Winfrey on an Apple TV+ docuseries about mental health.

Harry and Meghan moved from Canada to California back in March, around the same time they officially quit the royal family.

The couple and their son Archie are currently living in a multi-million dollar mansion in Santa Barbara, which they purchased back in June.
