Lena Dunham is getting candid about learning to love the way she looks – and realise that other people love it too.
The Girls creator and star shared a completely naked photo (with a couple of strategically placed emojis) to Instagram while discussing the importance body positivity.
“I spent so many years loving my body but thinking it wasn’t lovable by others- its sole purpose was to be fodder for jokes,” she shared. “I performed the insult so no one else could.

“I don’t regret any of it- that’s my art and that was my truth- but now, at age 31, having been through hell and back with my health and other people’s perceptions of my physicality, I feel deeply comfortable with the idea that this pear-shaped pot of honey is equally good for making people laugh and laying out like a Suicide Girl circa 2004. Love it all.”
The 30-year-old has struggled with endometriosis for years and recently revealed that she was finally “disease-free” after her fifth surgery in a year.
Earlier this year Lena responded to backlash of her newly slimmer figure, explaining on Ellen: “I had this experience of my body changing and suddenly I got all these people being like, ‘You’re a hypocrite! I thought you were body positive! I thought you were a person who embraces bodies of all sizes!’
“I do, I just understand bodies change. We live a long time. Things happen. Andrew Rannells could get very fat. We don’t know. I was frustrated by it because it really was evidence that as a woman in Hollywood, you just can’t win.”
