Phoebe Waller-Bridge set to auction Golden Globes suit in aid of Australian bushfire relief

Fleabag writer and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to auction off her Golden Globes suit in aid of the Australia bushfire relief.

The suit was designed by Australian fashion house Ralph & Russo.

34-year-old Phoebe wore the suit while she scooped two Golden Globes at the ceremony held in L.A last night.

Fleabag is a fan-favourite

She won Best Actress for her starring role in Fleabag, and the show itself won Best Drama.

Making the announcement backstage at the ceremony, Phoebe revealed she came up with the plan to raise funds for the country following a discussion with the designers.

“We’ve hatched an amazing plan with Ralph & Russo who are Australian designers who’ve created this incredible couture suit which is the most incredible thing I’ve ever worn,”she explained

“We’re going to auction it and the money that is raised from it will go towards relief in Australia. It’s a beautiful idea from the team so I’m really excited to be part of that.”

The British actress is the latest star to make a fundraising gesture for the country, after it has been confirmed over 500 million animals have died so far in the tragedy.

On Saturday, American singer Pink donated $500,000 to the cause.
