Pete Davidson has revealed that he tried to drown himself when he was just nine year’s old.

During a candid interview with Variety, Ariana Grande’s fiancé opened up about losing his firefighter father, who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York back in 2001.

The 24-year-old confessed that following his father’s death, his depression was so severe that he tried to drown himself in a pool.

However, the SNL comedian, who suffers from borderline personality disorder, admitted that he was “too much of a p***y” to go through with it.

Despite the trauma, Pete has insisted that wouldn’t be where he is today if his father hadn’t passed away.

He told the magazine: “If my dad didn’t die, I wouldn’t be a comic. I’d be a construction worker in Staten Island or a basketball coach. I learned what death was…”

“That’s something you’re really not supposed to learn about until high school, when one of your friends falls asleep in the garage, or whatever…”

The 24-year-old also opened up about his relationship with pop superstar Ariana Grande, who he proposed to just weeks after they started dating earlier this year.

He gushed: “I never thought I’d meet anyone like her. I can’t even put into words how great of a person she is. I could cry.”

“She’s the f*****g coolest, hottest, nicest person I’ve ever met. I’m f*****g living the godd**n dream. I feel like I’m living in a fantasyland.”

On how he proposed to Ariana, he said, “I didn’t want to do something corny. We were in bed hanging, after watching a movie. I was like, ‘Will you marry me?’ It was really dope.”

“I’m still convinced she’s blind or hit her head really hard,” he laughed. “Something is going to happen, and she’s going to be like, ‘What the f*** is this thing doing around?’ For right now, it’s rocking.”
