Olivia Newton-John has shared a moving tribute to Kelly Preston, after the actress lost her two-year-battle with breast cancer on Monday.
The Grease actress starred alongside Kelly’s husband, John Travolta, in the iconic movie – and has shared a close friendship with the actor and his family ever since.
Taking to Instagram, the 71-year-old said her heart is broken over Kelly’s death.
“Kelly Preston was a radiant, warm and gentle spirit – a loving, devoted wife, mother and sweet friend,” she wrote.
“My heart breaks for John, Ella and Ben. No words can express my sorrow for her family. Kelly’s light shines on in her beautiful children.”
Olivia also shared a photo from an initiative the pair set up 20 years ago, where they made a video about children’s safety.
“I was proud to launch the CHEC ‘Not Under My Roof’ initiative with @therealkellypreston 20 years ago,” she wrote.
“She was passionate about safety for children from environmental toxins…Thanks to Kelly’s passion to protect children’s health – from her own personal experience – she helped catapult the children’s environmental health campaign.”
Olivia’s co-star John confirmed the news that his wife of 28 years had passed away on Monday.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” he shared on Instagram.
“Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.”
The couple shared three children together – Ella Bleu, Benjamin and Jett, who passed away 11 years ago aged 16 from a seizure.
