On the latest episode of the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, Nicole said: “On The Undoing it kind of happened where I was suddenly in this place of… There was sort of a disquietness to my personality, where I was uneasy and there was duress on who I was.

“I went down for a week, because your immune system it doesn’t know the difference between acting and truth when you’re doing them.

“I have not learnt the technique to tell my brain and my body that it is just acting. I go home and I don’t sleep well, and I’m not well. It’s that disturbing to me,” the Australian star admitted.

The six-part series, based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, starred Nicole alongside Hugh Grant at the centre of a murder mystery.

Viewers were kept guessing throughout the season as to who really killed Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis) – and the series finale finally revealed the truth.

The final episode received a mixed reaction online, with some fans admitting they were disappointed by the show’s “obvious” conclusion.
