Nick Jonas and wife Priyanka Chopra are set to produce an unscripted reality TV series for Amazon Prime.
The couple, who married last year in a traditional Indian wedding ceremony, are set to create a currently untitled show that will follow engaged couples as they prepare for their Sangeet.
A Sangeet is part of a couple’s wedding where both families meet a few days before the ceremony to celebrate and mingle with each other.
The series will follow the loved-up couples and their wedding party as they prepare for not only their big day, but also as they rehearse for dance performances.
Speaking about the upcoming project, Priyanka said the centuries-old tradition sparks warmth and excitement for her.
“We re-watched the video of our Sangeet last week on our first anniversary, and the togetherness of our family and friends during this event still sparks the same warmth and excitement that it did just over a year ago at our wedding,” said Priyanka.
“The Sangeet is a centuries-old Indian wedding tradition, that not only celebrates the union of two people but also signifies the introduction and bonding of two families coming together in a marriage,” she explained.
With casting already under-way, the series will air on the platform in 2020.
