Michelle Obama revealed that she “sobbed for 30 minutes” following Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The former First Lady completed the first stop on her ‘Becoming’ book tour, in which she sat down with Oprah Winfrey to talk about the autobiography and her life.
“When I got on the plane, I sobbed for 30 minutes,” Michelle revealed, speaking of the day she moved out of the White House with her family, while Donald Trump moved in.
The mother-of-two said that her tears had nothing to do with Trump and explained: “I think it was just the release of eight years trying to do everything perfectly.”
“I said to Barack: ‘That was so hard, what we just did. That was so hard.'”
Although the author did not directly speak about Trump during her conversation with Oprah, she did mention the president in her book.
Michelle wrote about the 72-year-old’s “loud and reckless innuendos” regarding Barack’s birth certificates, as she felt that his comments put her family in danger and stated that she would never forgive him for that.
The 54-year-old is touring around the U.S. and will also head to London for her book tour, which will end in the middle of December.
