Max Ehrich has claimed that he found out about his split from Demi Lovato through the media.
On Thursday night, PEOPLE magazine reported that the couple have parted ways – just two months after Max proposed to Demi.
The couple got engaged in July, four months after they met back in March.
Max took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday to break his silence on the split, writing: “Imagine finding out the status of your relationship through a tabloid.”
He added: “… While you’re in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people. God bless.”
A source recently told E! News that Demi and Max were “arguing a lot” in recent weeks, and the singer soon realised “she didn’t know who Max truly was and didn’t think he had good intentions.”
“There were many red flags she was ignoring and trying to turn a blind eye to.”
A second source said Demi “doesn’t trust him and thinks he’s sketchy”, and she allegedly “feels he proposed to get attention.”
It’s understood Demi’s friends and family, including her mother Diana De La Garza, were “warning” her about Max.
An insider said Demi was urged to end their relationship “sooner than later.”
“Demi is really upset and distraught about it,” the source added.
The couple’s split was confirmed by PEOPLE, after fans noticed that they haven’t been liking each other’s recent Instagram posts.
Demi’s bodyguard and sister also unfollowed Max on the social media platform.
