Love Is Blind stars Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson break their silence on their split

Love Is Blind stars Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson have broken their silence on their split.

The couple tied the knot during the season two finale of the hit Netflix dating show, after falling in love in the pods.

But last month, Danielle filed for divorce from Nick, and the reality stars are now addressing their break-up for the first time.

In a statement shared via Instagram on Wednesday, Danielle wrote: “What a whirlwind of a year, with countless life changing events, experiences and memories made.”

“It has taken some time to publicly speak about my marriage ending, as emotions are still raw. However, I will always appreciate those who have followed my journey and continue to support me throughout this entire experience.”

“I’ve gained incredible new friends who I now call family. Found an incredible support group and virtual friends from around the world who I am forever grateful for. I’ve also learned to love myself and to prioritize surrounding myself with those who love me for who I am.”

She continued: “The future is bright and I’m hopeful my next chapter will be the best one yet. Excited to have the opportunity to continue to connect with all of you, shed light on topics I hold close to home, and show you some new projects I have been working on.”

“Love y’all so much. As a wise woman said – choose yourself. :)”

In a separate statement, Nick wrote: “The last few weeks have been especially challenging for me. Like many of us going through a loss or life-altering event, we experience cycles of grief while we navigate our emotions.”

“Everyone perceives and experiences grief differently when a relationship ends, let alone the loss of a marriage in the public eye. I’m working through my own mental and emotional challenges to overcome feelings of anxiety and depression.”

The 36-year-old went on to say he’s leaned into those “loyal” to him in an effort to block out the people who “disappoint or do not align” with his “truth or well-being.”

“Most importantly, I’ve learned it’s okay to not be okay and that staying true to myself is essential to find my way forward.”

He concluded by noting that he’s “grateful” for the experience, but still trying to heal his wounds.

“I am heartbroken my marriage ended. I know in my heart that I did the best I could and gave it everything I had,” Nick added.

News of Danielle and Nick’s divorce came just days after their co-stars Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced their split.

Deepti Vempati and Kyle Abrams, who confirmed their romance on Love Is Blind: After The Altar, also secretly split over the summer.
