Lea Michele has quit Twitter – after being targeted by Naya Rivera fans who slammed her for her treatment of the actress.
The Glee stars famously stopped speaking by the end of the series, with Naya previously opening up about their feud in a tell-all book.
In her 2016 memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up, Naya, opened up about clashing with Lea. Naya played Santana Lopez on the show, opposite Lea’s character Rachel Berry.
“We are both strong willed and competitive – not just with each other but with everyone – and that’s not a good mixture,” she admitted.
“As Santana moved from a background character to one with bigger plot lines and more screen time. I think Rachel – erm, I mean Lea – didn’t like sharing the spotlight.
“If I’d complained about anyone or anything, she’d assumed I was bitching about her. Soon, she started to ignore me, and eventually it got to the point where she didn’t say a word to me for all of season 6,” she explained.
But the pair seemed to be on good terms before Naya disappeared while out swimming with her four-year-old son.
Earlier this summer when Lea announced her pregnancy, Naya was one of the first people to congratulate her.
“Aww congrats! I love this. You’re going to be a great mommy!”
Lea’s latest exit from social media comes just weeks after multiple co-stars slammed her for her behaviour during filming of the hit show.
On the latest episode of Goss Chats, Ali Ryan chats to Ronan Keating about his stat-studded upcoming music special, and working with Robbie Williams on a special new song dedicated to Stephen Gately.
