Lady Gaga reveals painful battle with fibromyalgia

The singer will document her battle in a new Netflix documentary

NETFLIX

Lady Gaga has revealed that she’s battling fibromyalgia, a muscular condition that has left her in severe pain.

In her new Netflix documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two, the famous singer can be seen receiving treatment for her chronic muscle pain, which is caused by the debilitating condition.

Fibromyalgia can also cause fatigue, as well as issues with your memory and mood.

On Twitter, Gaga revealed that she wanted to share her struggle in order to raise awareness.

The Born This Way singer had previously told fans about her “chronic pain”, but this is the first time she’s revealed her diagnosis.

Back in 2013, the star was forced to cancel dates on her world tour due to an inflammation of the joints, and a labral tear.

However, Gaga later revealed that she had actually broken her hip, and was facing a complete hip replacement if she didn’t cancel her shows and undergo surgery.

Gaga: Five Foot Two, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, will also document her split from Taylor Kinney, and her infamous feud with Madonna.

Gaga: Five Foot Two premieres on Netflix on Friday, September 22.
