Lady Gaga has broken her silence on those texts she sent about Katy Perry and Dr Luke.

On Friday, The Blast published court documents which claim that Katy stopped working with the music producer because she was afraid it could ruin her career.

The documents were filed in the long-running legal battle between Kesha and Dr Luke, and in Katy’s testimony, the singer said she was “annoyed” at Kesha and Lady Gaga for texting about her, and “p***ed off” at Luke and Kesha for dragging her into their dispute.

After the story hit headlines, Gaga took to Twitter to say, “Katy Perry & I have grown up in the industry together. We’ve gone through both celebrations & differences w/ each other.”

“These are old texts. We’ve matured, gotten over the past, love each other & share deep respect. Katy is my friend and is truly a kind soul. End of story.”

A spokesman for Lady Gaga added, “These text messages paint a picture of one friend trying to help another through an extraordinary difficult time. They are several years old and in no way reflect Lady Gaga’s relationship with Katy Perry.”

“These are private texts that — along with personal information from other high-profile individuals — have been publicly filed to generate media attention for this case.”

In response, Katy reposted Gaga’s tweet, and replied, “Love you too friend. Onward and upward.”

The drama stems from what Katy maintains a misunderstanding – as Kesha believed Katy was sexually assaulted by Dr Luke, but refused to speak out in support of her.

In the texts between Gaga and Kesha, which were revealed in court documents used in the legal battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke, Gaga says, “She is probably really afraid to lose everything,” before adding, “U are really strong standing up to him, she’s not as strong as u yet.”

Kesha replied, “your [sic] right. I need to find sympathy and empathy for her. she’s so mean. it’s hard.”

Gaga responded, “Do u want me to see if I can talk to her. I know she’s mean. … She makes me angry about s*** [but] I just try to have empathy for her.”

In her 2017 deposition, Katy responded to Kesha and Gaga’s text claims by saying, “They think I was raped and I was not.”
