Lady Gaga admits she wanted people to believe her and Bradley Cooper were secretly ‘in love’

Fans were rooting for them to get together in real life

Lady Gaga has admitted that she wanted people to believe her and Bradley Cooper were secretly in love.

They both played onscreen lovers in A Star Is Born last year, and their undeniable chemistry sparked rumours of romance – despite the fact that Bradley was in a relationship with model Irina Shayk.

Gaga and Bradley fuelled those rumours even further at the Oscars earlier this year, when they performed ‘Shallow’ at the ceremony.

Not long after, Bradley and Irina’s split hit headlines, and fans were convinced that he left her for Gaga – but that wasn’t the case at all.

Gaga was recently interviewed by Oprah Winfrey for Elle, and she brought up the romance rumours surrounding her and Bradley.

Oprah said: “We [Oprah and Bradley] were talking about all the rumours about you guys last year. He said if they had been true, he never would have been able to look you in the eye sitting at that piano.”

Gaga replied, “Absolutely, absolutely,” before adding, “I mean, we made a love story.”

“For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love. And we wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars.”

“We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on. And we worked hard on it, we worked for days. We mapped the whole thing out—it was orchestrated as a performance,” she added.
