Kristen Stewart kept her relationship firmly out of the spotlight when dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.
But now the actress is being a lot more open about her love life and her sexuality, and has received huge amounts of praise for telling the audience she is “so gay” while hosting SNL last month.
“I wasn’t hiding anything,” she told The Sunday Times of her romance with Rob. “I didn’t talk about my first relationships that went public because I wanted things that are mine to be mine.

“I hated it that details of my life were being turned into a commodity and peddled around the world.”
However more recently she saw that she could help others by coming out, revealing, “Considering I had so many eyes on me, I suddenly realised [my private life] affects a greater number of people than just me.
“It was an opportunity to surrender a bit of what was mine, to make even one other person feel good about themselves.”
Kristen said she decided to publicly come out because “it seemed important, and topical”.

The 26-year-old added that she didn’t keep her romance with Robert out of the limelight because she was “struggling” with her sexuality, but simply to avoid the media frenzy surrounding them.
“When I was dating Rob, the public were the enemy — and that is no way to live,” she said. “It wasn’t this grand statement, ‘I was so confused! Now I’ve realised who I am!’ I have not been struggling.”
Meanwhile Kristen has just debuted a dramatic new shaved platinum blonde hairdo while promoting her new film Personal Shopper.
