Kim Kardashian has been “focused on healing her relationship” with Kanye West, despite their recent marital troubles.
The reality star’s marriage has dominated headlines in recent weeks, after Kanye posted a number of shocking statements on Twitter – including a claim that he’s been “trying to get divorced” from his wife for two years.
The 39-year-old previously confirmed that her husband’s recent behaviour was the result of a serious bipolar episode, and she is now said to be “supporting” him during his mental health struggle.
“Kim is focused on healing her relationship with Kanye and has been busy taking care of their kids and him,” a source told Us Weekly.
“She has been helping and supporting him a ton while he’s been struggling with his mental health and wants him to know and feel that she is there for him through thick and thin.”
“The quarantine has been hard on Kanye and, in turn, has been difficult for her too,” the insider added.
“Their marriage definitely faced some hardships and was just hanging on with Kanye not being able to fully be present for their family, but ultimately Kim wants to keep everyone together and work things out for their kids.”
The couple recently “fled” to a secluded resort in the Dominican Republic, in a last ditch “attempt to save their marriage”.
A source told People at the time: “They decided to travel together so they can be away in private. Between the kids, work, and dealing with Kanye’s bipolar episodes, it’s been hard for her [Kim] to think clearly.
“She just wants to do what’s best for the kids. And she thinks finding a way to save her marriage is what’s best for them.”
“Their vacation definitely helped put things at ease for the time being,” Us Weekly’s source added, “But the issues they were dealing with go deeper than that and unfortunately won’t just be solved with a trip.”
Kim and Kanye’s marriage troubles hit headlines last month, after the rapper sparked concern at his presidential rally in South Carolina.
During the rally, the 43-year-old broke down in tears as he spoke about almost aborting their now 7-year-old daughter North.
After the rally, Kanye posted a number of shocking statements on Twitter, and he even accused Kim of trying to get him “locked up”.
In the statement, Kim opened up about her husband’s mental health – explaining how “incredibly complicated and painful” it can be to struggle with bipolar disorder and asking the public for “compassion.”
Kanye and Kim tied the knot back in 2014, and the couple share four kids – North, 7, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 14 months.
