Katy Perry dropped a major clue about her daughter’s name months before giving birth.
Katy and her fiancé Orlando Bloom announced that they had welcomed their first child earlier today via UNICEF, the organisation they serve as Goodwill Ambassadors for.
The couple shared a black and white image of their hands alongside their daughters’, who they named Daisy Dove Bloom.
But it appears the singer hinted at her newborn’s name long before giving birth – as she released a song entitled Daisies back in May.
Daisies is from Katy’s latest album Smile, which also features the track Never Worn White – which she announced her pregnancy in the music video for by showcasing her baby bump.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando shared on the news of the newborn’s arrival.
The Hollywood stars left an important message alongside the news: “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was.”
“Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases.
“As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.
“As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.”

Resharing the post to her own Instagram, Katy encouraged her followers to donate to the organisation “to support the most precious gift: a healthy child.”
Katy and Orlando got engaged on Valentine’s Day last year, and announced their pregnancy over a year late in March.
