Kanye West steps in to replace Ariana Grande – after she pulls out of SNL due to ’emotional reasons’

The singer has had a tough month

Kanye West will appear on the season 44 premiere of Saturday Night Live this weekend, filling in for Ariana Grande.

SNL producer Lorne Michaels has revealed that Ariana was supposed to be the musical guest for this Saturday’s show, but she pulled out due to “emotional reasons”.

Speaking on James Andrew Miller’s Origins podcast, he said, “We had Ariana drop out for emotional reasons two days ago.”

Lorne added that Kanye “stepped up” to replace her, and explained, “He’ll be there. The reach of the show, and the number of people that will step forward, is just somehow now, I think, probably at its peak.”

Kanye will now be the musical guest for the premiere episode on Saturday, with Adam Driver hosting the show.

While Ariana won’t appear on SNL this weekend, it’s believed her fiancé Pete Davidson will still be on the show.

It’s no surprise that Ariana dropped out of her SNL appearance, as she is still mourning the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who passed away on September 7 at the age of 26.

Earlier this week, the songstress worried fans after admitting that she’s “not OK” in a series of emotional tweets.

However, the 25-year-old later reassured her followers: “ur angels in my life. it’s just been a tough month. i’m trying to get my work done and get back to normal and it’s hard and i’m human and tired. sorry i let u in or worried u. i shouldn’t have tweeted. i kno better.”
