Kim Kardashian definitely turned heads at the 2021 Met Gala.
The reality star donned a full-body get-up by Balenciaga, wearing a black body-hugging T-shirt dress, catsuit, boots and full face covering.
The 40-year-old was accompanied by a male in a black face covering, oversized hoodie and joggers – who many believed was her ex-husband Kanye West.

But according to E! News, the rapper did not attend this year’s Met.
Instead, the creative director of Balenciaga person Demna Gvasalia stood by the KKW Beauty founder’s side on the red carpet.
A source told the publication: “[Kanye’s] presence will be felt on the carpet. It was him who introduced Kim to Demna and was instrumental in the newly formed relationship between her and Balenciaga.”

The insider said it’s a new fashion era for Kim, adding: “This look on Kim is like a new subculture and fashion statement. No logo, no face, but everyone knows it’s her.”
“Kanye gave her the courage to push creativity and people’s imagination through art. It’s the ultimate confidence.”
Kim wore a similar incognito look over the weekend, as she arrived in New York ahead of the Gala.

The Skims founder filed for divorce from Kanye in February, after almost seven years of marriage.
Six months on, the former couple are said to be working on their relationship.
A source told E! News earlier this month: “Kim is not rushing the divorce. She and Kanye are in a good place right now and she is not on a rushed timeline to push the divorce forward.”
Kim and Kanye tied the knot in 2014, and share four children – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
The insider continued: “Kanye has expressed that he wants her back, and Kim is open to it, but wants to focus first on rebuilding their foundation and friendship back stronger.”
The pair sparked reconciliation rumours at Kanye’s Donda event in Chicago last month, when Kim stepped out in a Balenciaga Couture wedding gown during Kanye’s final performance at his album listening party.

Some fans thought it was their way of announcing they were back together, while others believed Kimye were publicly renewing their wedding vows.
However, a source later confirmed they weren’t back together just yet.
An insider explained: “Kanye asked [Kim] to do something and Kim was happy to do it. She has always supported his work and will continue to do that in the future.”
“She enjoys collaborating with Kanye. They have a bond for life and she wants to be there for him.”
“She knew how much this [event] meant to him and was honored to be involved. The wedding dress was symbolic of their relationship and for the song.”
“It was not a vow renewal,” they added.
