Johnny Depp has settled a multi-million dollar lawsuit with his former managers.

The actor accused the Management Group of spending millions of his own money without his permission, and filed a suit against them in January 2017 – seeking $25 million in damages.

The company, which is fronted by Joel and Robert Mandel, filed a countersuit in which they claimed that Johnny was responsible for his own financial loss due to his ridiculous spending habits.

They alleged that Johnny splurged millions on property, wine, art, and a cannon which he used to scatter the ashes of writer Hunter S Thompson.

Both parties went back and forth for over a year, but a month before the trial was due in court on August 15, the actor settled the lawsuit.

A spokesperson for Johnny said, “Johnny Depp is pleased to have achieved a settlement agreement with The Management Group following the legal action he took against the company in January 2017.”

“The lawsuit taken out against The Management Group – and the subsequent settlement – is a further demonstration that Johnny is determined to take firm action to protect his personal and artistic reputation in the interests of his family and his career.”

“Johnny extends his most sincere thanks and appreciation to the true supporters that have shown their loyalty to both him and his family over recent years.”
