John Legend has spoken out about his appearance in the new documentary series ‘Surviving R. Kelly’.
The Lifetime series features interviews with over 50 people, including several women who claim to be victims of sexual misconduct by R. Kelly, and witnesses.
John took to Twitter to praise the producer of the doc: “We should all thank my friend @dreamhampton for her very necessary work to create #SurvivingRKelly.”
“These survivors deserved to be lifted up and heard. I hope it gets them closer to some kind of justice.”

After the first episode aired, the 40-year-old received praise for appearing in the docuseries.
In response, John tweeted:Â “To everyone telling me how courageous I am for appearing in the doc, it didn’t feel risky at all. I believe these women and don’t give a f**k about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision.”
The singer continued to show his appreciation to those who have been helping the alleged victims by saying, “Also I’m happy to support the work of people like my friends at @ALongWalkHome who have been speaking out on behalf of the survivors for a long time.”
