John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have addressed Kanye West’s controversial Twitter rants.
The couple appeared on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’ this week, and a caller asked the couple about their friend’s tweets – in which he spoke about slavery, Trump and other questionable topics.
John laughed before admitting, “Yeah, well, you know. When I see some of it, I just shake my head.”
“A lot of people that love Kanye, that love his music, they’re like, ‘I don’t agree with a lot of the things he says.’ And, you know, he loves it. He says what he’s gonna say, and it’s on him.”
The 40-year-old singer revealed that he is constantly asked about the subject: “It’s weird, because I get asked about it all the time. I can’t be accountable for what he’s gonna say. Truly!”
Chrissy then joked about how she would be the controversial one in their relationship, and said: “The roles are probably reversed in this!”
The mother of two also credited Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian for defending her husband: “All you want to do is protect the person you love and be able to defend them at all costs. It really is tough, because we all have our separate identities. We believe different things.”
She continued to keep the topic light-hearted and joked: “As much as you love somebody, they’re going to ‘f’ up sometimes and they’re going to say weird things.”
