Joe Biden’s dog Major to make White House history

Joe Biden’s German Shepard Major is set to make history as the first rescue dog to reside at the White House.

Following a brutal race against President Donald Trump, the Democratic candidate won over 270 electoral college votes on Saturday, becoming the 46th President of the United States.

The 77-year-old will begin his four-year-term from January 20, 2021, as he moves to the White House with his wife Jill and their two adorable pooches Major and Champ.

The Biden family adopted Major back in 2018, after he and a litter of six other puppies received “life-saving medical care” after exposure to “something toxic in their home”, according to the Delaware Humane Association where he was rescued.

Joe told CNN at the time of the adoption: “We are so happy to welcome Major to the Biden family, and we are grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their work in finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals.”

Major and Champ’s move to the White House marks the first time since 2016 that the president’s residence has been home to pooches, after Donald Trump became the first president without a dog in decades.
