Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she and Will Smith almost starred in a remake of ‘A Star Is Born‘.
The 2018 remake, which stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, was a huge hit in the box office this year – and has already received multiple award nominations.
Speaking to Extra TV, J-Lo admitted that she was set to play Lady Gaga’s character back in the early 2000s alongside Will.
She said, “Will and I talked about it and talked about developing the script, it just never took off. Projects are like that.”
She continued, “I’m really proud of Bradley, one for directing his first film and doing it. We’re friends, and watching Lady Gaga do her thing in the movie, it’s just great.”
“It was perfect. Everything happens in its own divine timing.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Clint Eastwood was rumoured to direct ‘A Star Is Born’ back in 2011.
Plenty of major stars were linked to the project, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyoncé, Christian Bale, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, and even Eminem – but nothing ever came of it.
