Jason Bateman has finally signed up for season 5 of much-loved TV show Arrested Development.
It was announced over a year ago that Arrested Development’s fifth season was in the works, but the lack of any updates since had fans a bit worried.
But the actor sent out a tweet to put all fans’ worries to rest, and hinted that they may begin filming this summer.
The actor took to his Twitter to say, “Looks very probable I’m going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer. Just officially signed on to more Arrested Development today.”

Since the announcement of season five, we’ve had star David Cross talk about the difficulty of bringing it back because so many companies are involved (and busy actors).
He also revealed that he wants it to return to the style of the first three seasons, rather than the fourth season.
Series creator Mitch Hurwitz spoke about the narrative choices of season four, which saw the main character’s split up to do their own thing rather than bounce off each other.
It was also revealed that season five will contain 17 episodes.
