James Corden accused of cultural appropriation for his ‘Drop the Mic’ sketch

James Corden has been accused of cultural appropriation for his ‘Drop the Mic’ sketch.

The presenter has had a number of celebrities on the comedy sketch and it quickly gained huge success since its launch in 2016, as CBS aired a spin-off series of the skit.

The 40-year-old has had guests such as P. Diddy, David Schwimmer, Rebel Wilson, Cara Delevingne and Kevin Hart, to name but a few, on the show.

CBS

Rapper, Dizaster, has accused the father-of-three of cultural appropriation as he claimed James knows nothing about rap battling.

“James Corden is a cultural appropriator to the fullest. Like if there was a culture-appropriating emblem, it would be his f**king swollen little f**king porky pig face,” the rapper told TooFab.

“That’s what would be the emblem of culture appropriating. It’s getting involved in battle rap and not even knowing what the f**king battlers are.”

The 34-year-old later claimed that he was invited to attend the set of the sketch to give James guidance and that the host had no interest in learning about the battle rap culture.

“I had to introduce myself to him and he’s just like, ‘Okay,’ And he walked away. He just didn’t even know anything about battle rap. He wanted to battle but didn’t want to do no kind of, like didn’t even care,” the rapper said.

“They wanted us there to help them and give them ‘authenticity,’ but they f**king didn’t know nothing. I’m not going to sit over here and completely dump on him because I could all f**king day, but like that s**t is a joke. We don’t want anyone to think that is battle rap.”

“That show, the way it is, it’s not to help battlers. It’s to keep them behind the scenes and pretty much use them for all of their abilities, their coaching, all their s**t, and then put on the faces that they want to put on. This is culture appropriating,” Dizaster continued, as got more furious about the situation.

“You come from a f**king different place. You’re not even from here. This is where hip hop is from. You come from a different place so you could do this s**t, but you don’t want to know none of this s**t that we’re doing? Nah, culture appropriating bulls**t.”

“I’ll never respect people like that,” the rapper stated.

James Corden has yet to respond to Dizaster’s claims.
