This HUGE Hollywood actor will play young Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts sequel

There’s been some big news for fans of the Harry Potter universe.

A major movie star has been cast to play a young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel.

Variety revealed that Jude Law has signed on to play the powerful wizard in the movie, which is due out next year.

“Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long admired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him,” director David Yates said.

“I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life.”

Dumbledore was originally played by Richard Harris in the first two Harry Potter films, and after his death Michael Gambon took on the iconic character.

The Fantastic Beasts sequel will see Eddie Redmayne return as Newt Scamander while Jude’s Dumbledore will battle Johnny Depp’s villainous Grindelwald.

J.K. Rowling has one again written the screenplay for the second of what will be five instalments of the saga.

Jude recently appeared in The Young Pope, and will soon be starring in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and reprising his role as Dr. John Watson in Sherlock Holmes 3.
