A hotel maid has put Lady Gaga’s Golden Globes gown up for auction, after the singer allegedly left the dress behind in her hotel room.

Sara Corea, who has worked at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for 24 years, has claimed Gaga left the custom Valentino dress in her suite after attending the awards show back in January.

The dress is now being sold through Nate D. Sanders Auctions, at a starting price of $8,000.

The periwinkle gown is being auctioned alongside a letter of authenticity written by Sara, who said she initially brought the dress to the hotel’s lost and found department.

However, the garment wasn’t retrieved after several months, so the hotel allegedly gave Sara the dress as a “gift”.

But now, it looks like Sara is going to have a hard time selling the dress, as Valentino have reportedly filed a police report – claiming the dress has been stolen.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources have said someone from Valentino made an incident report with the Beverly Hills Police on Friday.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, a spokesperson for Nate D. Sanders said: “Nate D. Sanders Auctions prides itself on having legitimate and correct provenance on all items it places in the company’s monthly auctions.”

“We have been made aware of a question concerning the provenance of the Lady Gaga dress being auctioned on October 31. Our research confirms the dress was given to the Beverly Hilton lost and found department, where it stayed for almost nine months.”

“The hotel, in accordance with its longstanding policy, released the dress when no one claimed the item. The consignor has a receipt from the Beverly Hilton lost and found department and documentation, which accompanies the dress for auction.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Beverly Hilton said: “While we are still conducting an internal investigation to understand all the facts, we have no reason to believe the item was stolen.”

“We are working with all parties to retrieve the item and have it returned to its rightful owner as soon as possible.”
