These hilarious comedians are set to play Timon and Pumbaa in live-action of The Lion King

The Lion King live-action reboot has found its Timon and Pumbaa, according to a new report.

The Wrap claims that Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner – who are pals in real life – are in final negotiations to portray the loveable and hilarious best friends in the movie.

Neighbors star Seth would voice the warthog Pumbaa, while the Billy on the Street host would play meerkat Timon.

The characters are best-known for singing Hakuna Matata, which is one of the most beloved songs from the original 1994 movie.

Donald Glover has already been cast as the lead character of Simba, and James Earl Jones is set to play his father Mufasa.

The movie will be directed by Jon Favreau following the success of his take on The Jungle Book last year.

It was announced on Tuesday that The Lion King – the latest of Disney’s hugely popular live-action reboots – will be released on July 19th, 2019.

Meanwhile Frozen 2 is set for a November 27th, 2019 release, Wreck-It Ralph 2 will come out on November 21st, 2018 and Indiana Jones 5 won’t hit cinemas until July 10, 2020.
