Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed she “almost died” giving birth to her daughter Apple.
The actress shares two children with her ex-husband Chris Martin – Apple, 17, and Moses, 15.
During her appearance on Monday’s episode of the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, the 49-year-old opened up about the scary experience while discussing how people’s bodies change throughout the aging process.
The goop founder said: “I had two cesareans. My daughter was an emergency. It was crazy—we almost died. It was, like, not good.”
“Anyway, there’s a big scar across your body, and you’re like, ‘Oh, wow, that didn’t used to be there.’ And it’s not that it’s bad, or you want to judge it, but you’re just like, ‘Oh, my god.'”
Back in 2013, Gwyneth told Daily Mail that she suffered a miscarriage during her third pregnancy.
At the time, she said her children would frequently ask her to have another baby but that she “had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out, and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here, or should we go back and try again?'”
The actress got married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin back in 2003, but the former couple announced their divorce in 2014.
Gwyneth is now married to American Horror Story co-creator Brad Falchuk, who she first met in 2010 after working together on Glee.
Meanwhile Chris is dating 50 Shades of Gray star Dakota Johnson.
