George Clooney introduced himself as “Amal’s husband” at Variety’s Power of Women event over the weekend.
The Hollywood star was there to present an award to Parkland shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez.
After taking to the stage, the star said, “Hi I’m George, I’m Amal Clooney’s husband.”
The crowd started to laugh, before he quipped, “Oh I know, I know, I can read this room.”

He continued, “Listen it’s an honor for me to be here today to give the award to the fearless Emma Gonzalez.”
The 18-year-old became an advocate for gun control in the wake of a mass shooting that took place at her high school, Majory Stoneman Douglas, in February.
After the shooting, George and Amal donated half a million dollars to the March for Our Lives movement, which was started by Emma and fellow survivors of the shooting.
