Garrett Hedlund has confirmed he sought treatment earlier this year, after he was arrested for driving under the influence on January 24.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the actor was arrested on two DUI charges, after his blood alcohol level tested at .36 percent, four times the legal limit of .08.
Garrett was released on $100,000 bail, and during his sentencing on February 25, he pleaded no contest to one charge, where the court found him guilty.
The second DUI charge was dismissed, and Garrett’s attorney Blair Burke negotiated a plea deal, which required the actor to complete a 30-day residential treatment program and a nine-month first-offender alcohol and drug education counseling program.
He also agreed to attend 30 AA meetings, and was ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service.
In a statement, a rep for Garrett said: “When the incident occurred, Garrett immediately sought treatment which was successful. Today, he is in a solid and great place.”
Garrett is currently expecting his first child with Hollywood actress Emma Roberts.
Emma’s pregnancy was first reported back in June, and she later confirmed the news on Instagram.
The couple are expecting a baby boy, and Emma is due to give birth before the end of the year.
