Fans are NOT happy with Ariana Grande for releasing non-vegan Starbucks drink

Some fans are not happy with Ariana Grande for releasing her non-vegan Starbucks drink.

Last week it was announced that the singer launched a new drink, the Cloud Macchiato, with the coffee chain and the beverage contains milk and egg whites.

Fans were quick to point out that Ariana previously announced she was vegan and in 2013 she tweeted: “I’ve eaten organically since I was little and always kept meat minimal but today marks my first day as a 100% Vegan!!!! Joyous day”.

The 25-year-old also spoke about veganism in a 2014 interview with The Mirror and said: “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding. But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person.”

Some fans were not happy with Ariana’s choice to release a dairy drink and took to social media to show their anger.

“(A)riana (G)rande claims to be vegan but is promoting a starbucks drink that can’t even be made vegan?? america explain!!!!!!” one fan tweeted.

Another fan said the singer should have rejected Starbucks’ offer instead of “taking a big cheque”: “If your drink can’t be made vegan and your (sic) vegan. Just tell Starbuck (sic) sorry. But this is not for me instead of taking the big cheque.”

Meanwhile, other fans have defended the singer and claimed that Ariana is no longer vegan.

Following the outrage online, a rep for Starbucks told Cosmopolitan that the drink cannot be made vegan: “No, the Cloud Macchiato cannot be made vegan. The milk can be customized, however, the fluffy cloud-like texture comes from the egg white powder”.
