EXCLUSIVE! Francesca Eastwood reveals what her famous parents taught her

Francesca Eastwood’s parents are two of the biggest names in the movie business – Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher – but the rising star is now taking Hollywood by storm in her own right.

LAGoss.com chatted to the actress at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival premiere of her new movie Cardinal X, where she discussed her character in the edgy film and what she is up to next.

Francesca also revealed the most important lessons she has learned from her mother and father, and said they didn’t have any reservations about her getting into acting.

“The thing that I’m most grateful for is that they never pushed me to do anything and they never pushed me away from doing anything,” she told us, sharing that the best advice they have given her is “to listen”.

“My parents have both instilled their work ethic in me, which they both have insanely different but insanely amazing ones. But it could be acting, it could be anything. So it’s not so much about what but how you do it.”

Since filming her role in Cardinal X, Francesca has premiered the movie Outlaws and Angels at Sundance, and more recently took her film M.F.A to SXSW Festival.

The 23-year-old is also appearing in this week’s episode of Fargo, playing a younger version of her mother’s character.

And she told us she would “absolutely” love to work with Frances on more projects in future, explaining, “It’s all about when the time is right and if it’s the right fit, which I’m sure there will be more of.”

In the meantime, Francesca is no doubt set to land plenty of other roles thanks to her brilliant portrayal of Jeanine, the supportive friend who is battling her own demons and pressure from her family, in Cardinal X.

While she made it look effortless, the star admitted that it was a challenge to get into the dark mindset of the movie. “This was probably the first film that I ever did,” Francesca told us.

“I’m drawn to dark stories and I’m drawn to those type of roles, but this is kind of the first time that I was ever really trying to create a character and go somewhere I’d never gone before on camera. So yeah, it was hard, but it was a very supportive community film.”

But Francesca is thrilled to be a part of the project, which she describes as “about friendship and love, and everything that I would hope to tell in a story”.
