Ellen DeGeneres is the queen of generosity and the episode of The Ellen Show this week proved no exception.
Jimmy Kimmell joined her on set before being moved to tears by a gesture the TV show host made in honour of his son Billy, who has been struggling with serious heart problems since birth.
“We called our friends at Children’s Hospital LA,”
“We have named one of the rooms of the Heart Institute floor in honor of Billy.”
Footage rolled that showed a sign on the hospital room reading “In Honor of Billy Kimmel.”
Jimmy welled up before thanking Ellen.
“That will forever be the Billy Kimmel room,” DeGeneres said.
She went on to tell Jimmy some of his son’s nurses were the audience to which he quipped, “You should be at work!”
“Thank you very much, that means a lot to me.”
