Ellen DeGeneres defends Meghan Markle and Prince Harry – and reveals she’s met their son Archie

The chat show host visited the couple and their newborn over the summer

Ellen DeGeneres has spoken out to defend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry once again.

The popular TV presenter praised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during the new season premiere of The Ellen Show – and revealed that she met their precious son Archie over the summer.

Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi were invited to visit the happy family in the UK.

Ellen said: “I spent the afternoon with Prince Harry and Meghan. It was an honour for them to meet me.”

“Seriously, they are so amazing, the cutest couple. But the most important thing is I got to hold little Archie. I fed him.”

“He weighs 15 pounds, which the exchange rate, I believe, is 17 dollars,” she joked.

The 61-year-old also addressed the constant negative press surrounding the Duke and Duchess – after they were recently criticised for their use of private jets.

Ellen said: “I hate it. I see them attacked and it is not fair. They are compassionate people doing so much for the world.”

This isn’t the first time Ellen has spoken out to defend Harry and Meghan.

Last month, the chat show host slammed those who “attacked” the couple for flying to the South of France on Elton John’s private jet.

At the time, she tweeted: “Portia and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation.”

“They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people. Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better.”
