A scripted TV show based on the pop star’s rise to fame is currently in the works, according to Deadline.
Starz is developing the project, which will be fictional but inspired by Mariah’s real experiences.

The diva is coming on board as an executive producer, and her pal Brett Ratner is also attached to the show.
According to Deadline, the drama will be set in New York City in 1986, and follows a bi-racial 16-year-old who hopes to make her dreams of stardom a reality.
The teen overcomes a tough childhood to become a singing sensation.
Mariah previously starred in her own docu-series Mariah’s World, which aired on E! from December to January.
