Michelle Williams is on top of the world! Fresh off the back of Destiny’s Child reuniting at Coachella as part of Beyoncé’s iconic performance, the singer has announced her engagement.
She recently got engaged to Chad Johnson, who is a pastor, life coach and chaplain for pro sports teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and L.A. Dodgers.
The pair kept it a secret until now but spilling the news to People she said, “We could not contain this any longer!”
The couple met at a spiritual retreat run by Johnson in Arizona in March 2017 when the Destiny’s Child star was “in a horrible, dark place” after leaving a cheating ex on The Real.
“I just needed to go somewhere where I could get a message of hope and restoration, rejuvenation — get connected to God.”
He told People, “When we met, both of us were in very similar places on a personal level. Michelle was coming off the heels of a really bad relationship, and I was just in a place of despair as well.”
