Demi Lovato deletes Twitter after she was SLAMMED for sharing a 21 Savage meme

Demi Lovato has deleted her Twitter after she received huge backlash for posting a meme about rapper 21 Savage.

The meme was making a joke about 21 Savage, who was arrested on Sunday morning by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for reportedly overstaying his visa – as he was born in Dominica, which was a British colony.

During the Super Bowl, Demi took to Twitter and wrote: “So far 21 savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl,” and also shared a meme which showed someone writing with a feather tip pen and ink with the caption, “This how 21 Savage be writing his verses.”

Twitter users were quick to call out the singer, including fellow rapper Offset, who seemed to ‘indirectly’ tweet, “ALL THE MEMES AND S**T AINT FUNNY WHEN SOMEBODY GOING THROUGH SOME. PRAYING FOR MY DAWG AINT S**T FUNNY HIS FANILY DEPENDING ON HIM.” [sic]

The 26-year-old tried to defend herself, but then tweeted, “F**k Twitter. This is why I don’t tweet anymore” – before deleting her account.

Demi then shared a screenshot of some of the nasty comments she received on her Instagram Story.

She then tried to clarify her comments by writing, “Wasn’t laughing at anyone getting deported. I know that’s not a joke… not have I EVER laughed at that.”

“Sorry if I offended anyone. But it’s no excuse to laugh at someone’s addiction, let alone their OD.”

The singer continued to defend her post, and insisted that she was just joking about the rapper being British.

She wrote: “Lastly, I wasn’t making fun on anything having to do with deportation or even anything against him. I was laughing at who the f**k knew 21 was British?”

“Literally no one. That’s it. It doesn’t go deeper than that. I’m sorry if I upset people truly.”
