Chris Pratt admits to feeling ‘upset and depressed’ after receiving backlash over Instagram post

Chris Pratt has admitted to feeling “upset and depressed”, after receiving backlash over an Instagram post he shared about his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Earlier this week, the actor thanked his partner for giving him a “healthy” daughter in a tribute posted on social media – which sparked uproar online.

In the post, he wrote: “Guys. For real. Look how she’s looking at me! I mean. Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church. She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes i put in my ear buds to drown it out, but that’s love!”

“She helps me with everything. In return, periodically, I open a jar of pickles. That’s the trade. Her heart is pure and it belongs to me. My greatest treasure right next to my Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck Rookie card,” he continued.

“Which if you know, you know is saying a lot. It’s her birthday in about 6 weeks. So if I don’t get her anything, I’ll tell her to look back on this post. Love you honey.”

The couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Lyla, in August 2020.

Chris’ comment about Katherine giving him a “healthy” daughter has ruffled a lot of feathers online, as the son he shares with his ex-wife Anna Faris has dealt with a number of health issues over the years.

Jack, who is now 9, was born two months premature, weighing just three pounds and 12 ounces.

Chris and Anna’s son spent the first month of his life in the NICU, and still has issues with his vision and leg muscles.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star is yet to address the backlash, but on Friday the actor admitted he was feeling “upset and depressed”.

Speaking on his Instagram Story, Chris said: “I went to bed last night really kind of upset and depressed and I woke up feeling crappy and I didn’t want to work out…”

“I knew though that if I put on my Christian music playlist and I got out of the woods and ran that I’d feel better but I just didn’t want to. I did it anyways and gosh was I right – it felt amazing.”

“I got out in the woods, got my blood pumping and God sat down right down next to me. I actually – I say this as I guy who, I don’t get emotional that often but I actually got emotional out in the woods…,” he explained.

“I felt like there was another in the fire standing next to me… But that moment really captured me.”

“So I just want to say all glory to God. And if you feel down today maybe get an exercise or maybe listen to some good worship music or get the word in because it really helped me this morning,” he added.
