Chase Crawford reveals his thoughts on the Gossip Girl re-boot

Chase Crawford has shared his opinion on Gossip Girl getting a brand new re-boot.

The re-make was confirmed by Joshua Safran, who was showrunner on the original show, who will write and executive produce the new version.

Chase played the role of Nate Archibald in the original production of the show, and told Cosmopolitan that he thinks a re-boot is a “smart” move.

“I haven’t heard anything official,” he told Cosmo’s Emily Tannenbaum.

“I think they’re smart, to keep it going,” he said.

“You can write with the ending in mind more…you can build more to the end.”

Speaking of the first Gossip Girl’s finale, Chase revealed that the assignment of Gossip Girl’s identity to Penn Badgely Dan Humphrey was “funny.”

“Was it controversial? I can’t remember what people have said about Dan,” he explained.

“Me personally, I thought it was kind of funny.”

“It’s hard—on any show that has a good run and has a large, passionate fan base—to end it. You can never give it an ending that lives up to the expectation, right?”

“If I’m being honest, just knowing Penn at the time, we all thought it was kind of funny.”
