Charli XCX has defended pal Camila Cabello’s relationship with fellow musician Shawn Mendes.
The star, who is fresh off the back of her highly praised performance at Electric Picnic, is currently touring with Taylor Swift, and told The Sun newspaper:
“I’ve only met Shawn a few times but he’s such a nice guy and Camila is great.”
“I love her, and think she’s amazing, so I’m so happy she is happy.”
The couple, who released Señorita together, have faced speculation that their relationship is a “showmance.”
They also experienced backlash for releasing a video to social media which showed them indulging in an unusual kissing technique.

Other celebs have also given their opinions on the video.
Justin Bieber commented on the unique display, saying:Â U guys are f**kin weird.” However, he added a friendly: “And I like it.”
Camila opened up about her relationship earlier this year, saying:
“Honestly, this past year and a half was the first time I really experienced falling in love with another person,” she told Elle.
“I think there is so much more depth to love when you know you are in it with another person.”
“You have so much more to say – I think that’s what makes me emotional.”
