Celine Dion opens up about her relationship with ‘best friend’ Pepe Munoz following the death of her husband

Celine Dion has opened up about her relationship with her “best friend” Pepe Munoz, two years after the death of her husband, René Angélil.

René passed away in 2016 after suffering a heart attack, following a long battle with cancer.

For the past two years Celine has been spotted hanging out with dancer, Pepe Munoz, and the singer has insisted that he is her “best friend” and that they are not in a relationship.

The 50-year-old told The Sun: “The press said, ‘Oh my God, Rene just passed and now there’s another man’. Yeah, there’s another man in my life but not THE man in my life.”

Celine went on to say that the media attention can be “difficult” for Pepe, as she added: “It was probably overwhelming for him at the beginning when we started working together because we were dancing together.”

“We bonded right away as friends, we had a good time. It evolved.”

“But when people started to take pictures and it was like, ‘Who’s that guy? Rene?’ Let’s not mix everything,” the singer continued.

“We’re friends, we’re best friends. Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he’s a gentleman. He’s giving me his hand to go out.”

Celine also added that she is “single” and added: “By the way, when I say, ‘I am single,’ please, leave me alone. Thanks.”

Speaking of René, who she met when she was 12-years-old, the singer said: “I see him every day through the eyes of my children. He gave me so much strength through all these years. And so much for me to explore, for me now to spread my wings.”

The mother-of-three also spoke out about her new look, as she has been showing off some incredible looks in recent years and said: “The way that we used to work before was more conservative.”

Celine added that her outfits make her “feel attractive” and continued: “I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy.”

As for anyone who has criticised her fashion sense or recent weight-loss, the 50-year-old said: “If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone.”
